CASTLE12 RF2+ SPECIAL THREAT BALLISTIC PLATE
BEYOND THE RF2 BASELINE
The CASTLE12 RF2+ is a stand-alone ceramic-composite ballistic plate developed for law-enforcement, military, security and high-risk operational applications.
The protection platform is based on the NIJ 0101.07 test framework and the NIJ 0123.00 RF2 threat set, which includes:
7.62×51 mm M80 Ball
7.62×39 mm mild steel core ammunition
5.56×45 mm M193
5.56×45 mm M855
Beyond the RF2 baseline threats, the tested plate configuration has undergone additional independent laboratory testing against M855A1 and M80A1 enhanced rifle threats.

STAND-ALONE CERAMIC-COMPOSITE CONSTRUCTION
The plate combines a silicon carbide ceramic strike face with a UHMWPE composite backing to provide rifle-threat protection in a stand-alone configuration.
Stand-alone performance means that the stated ballistic protection does not depend on an additional soft armor backer. The plate may be installed directly into a compatible plate carrier, subject to the carrier manufacturer’s dimensional requirements.
Compound Curve Configuration
The multi-curve profile is shaped to follow the contours of the torso, supporting a closer and more stable fit during prolonged wear and dynamic movement.

RF2+ DESIGNATION
RF2+ is a CASTLE12 product-series designation used to identify models with additional special-threat testing beyond the NIJ RF2 baseline threat set. RF2+ is not an official NIJ protection-level designation; the applicable official NIJ level remains RF2.

Ballistic performance applies only to the tested model, construction, dimensions and test conditions. Actual performance may vary according to ammunition type, projectile construction, impact velocity, distance, angle of incidence, shot placement, plate condition and environmental exposure.
Any plate subjected to ballistic impact, severe physical impact, deformation, moisture intrusion or visible external damage must be removed from service and professionally inspected or replaced.
